Bike the Valley during the first annual Cedar Valley Pedal Fest!

Would you enjoy taking in the beautiful scenery and learning about local flora and fauna from the seat of your bicycle? Or perhaps you would prefer to meet historic figures from Cedar Falls' past. Or better yet, maybe you're just looking for an excuse to indulge in a sweet treat! If any one of the aforementioned activities appeals to you (or even if they don't) you need to check out Cedar Valley Pedal Fest on July 2 & 3 in downtown Cedar Falls!

Whether you crave the long-distance of the open road or prefer to meander slowly over a flat surface, you'll find something fun for every skill level during Cedar Valley Pedal Fest. There are more than 10 rides to choose from and they all begin at Gateway Park in downtown Cedar Falls. Plus, all rides are absolutely FREE! Here's a list of rides that feature stops in dowtown:

Cedar Valley Bike TrailGARDEN RIDE - (Saturday July 2 at 9am)

Learn about our local community garden, discover the prairie plants at Big Woods Lake, tour the North Cedar Natural Resources Project and end your trip with a visit to the Cedar Falls Farmers Market in Overman Park!

LIBRARY RIDE - (Saturday, July 2 at 9:30am)

Ride to the Cedar Falls Public Library for a talk from Linda Betsinger McCann, author of Lost Black Hawk County. Following the talk, riders will ride the Riverside Trail loop through Hartman Reserve and the George Wyth Trail, ending at the library for refreshments!

POPCORN RIDE (Sunday, July 3 at 11am)

Experience growing and seeing popcorn production with local popcorn grower, Jim Fitkin, as you ride through the popcorn fields on his farm. Don't forget to pop over to Here's What's Poppin after the ride for a tasty treat!

There are lots of other great rides throughout the weekend too, including a guided ride to the fireworks in Waterloo! The full schedule of rides is as follows:
