Over the last decade, local craft brews have slowly been taking over tap handles at bars and restaurants all across the country. With flavors that are hand-crafted using fresh, local ingredients, it's easy to see why craft beer is in high demand. And, believe it or not, there’s no better place to exercise your craft beer palette then right here in Iowa!
Did you know that over 60 craft breweries have been established across our great state? That’s a lot of beer to choose from! Lucky for you, we’re bringing beers from 13 of them together in one place during Hops on Main on April 7th! This annual fundraiser provides attendees with an opportunity to enjoy samples from breweries around the state at participating downtown bars and restaurants. We’ve get a killer line-up of Iowa breweries this year and we are so pumped to be offering samples from the following breweries:
Backpocket Brewing Company - Located in the Iowa River Landing in beautiful Coralville, Backpocket Brewing is German inspired and hand crafted. There's a Backpocket beer perfect for every person, every occasion and, most importantly, every story.
Broad Street Brewing Co. - Broad Street Brewing Company, located in Reinbeck, specializes in brewing small batch beers close to home. They make unique yet authentic beers on their vintage 6 barrel (186gal) brewhouse purchased from the Orange Brewery in London England.
Confluence Brewing - Confluence brews the hand-crafted beer that Des Moines, Iowa, can call its own. If you savor beer as both a bold taste adventure in the present and a connection with generations past, Confluence Brewery was founded for you.
Deb's Brewtopia - Located in Elkader, IA, Deb's Brewtopia grows 11 different varieties of hops to use in their beers. Their brews are available locally in Elkader, but also at a variety of places here in the Cedar Valley.
Exile Brewing - Exile Brewing, located in Des Moines, brews full-flavored, easy-drinking, lagers and ales that have a complexity and balance marveled at by any Cicerone and enjoyed by even the most casual of beer drinkers. Wherever it is consumed, the hope is that their beer brings an extra measure of joy to the occasion.
Kalona Brewing Company - Heavenly beers are brewed by mere mortals at Kalona Brewing in downtown Kalona. They brew authentic craft beers and offer a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere in which to enjoy a fabulous dining and drinking experience.

Lion Bridge Brewing Company - Lion Bridge Brewing offers artisan beer produced in small batches in the Czech Village in Cedar Rapids. They work to develop relationships with restaurants, caterers and other local artisans to produce delicious, complex, and approachable beers with a focus on community and local collaboration.
Millstream Brewing Company - Some years ago three Amana men decided to revive the art that had not been practiced in Amana Colonies for years - the art of brewing beer. Carroll F. Zuber and brothers James and Dennis Roemig dreamed of building a small brewery to produce small batches of hand brewed beers reminiscent of Europe's finest.
Peace Tree Brewing Co. - Peace Tree Brewing Company is dedicated to brewing handcrafted, full-flavored beers with a great attention to quality at their microbrewery located in Knoxville. The brewery was name in honor of the Peace Tree at Red Rock and they are hopeful that the beer made under the Peace Tree label will be shared with friends and strangers alike and act as a catalyst for conversations, new friendships and important agreements
Pulpit Rock Brewing Co. - Recently opened in Decorah, IA, the brewers at Pulpit Rock are tireless and creative individuals who honor their craft and are never satisfied. No matter what kudos come their way, they’ll constantly look to refine and improve Pulpit Rock beer.
SingleSpeed Brewing Co. - Located in the heart of downtown Cedar Falls, SingleSpeed's mission is to brew beers built for the venturesome beer drinker, those unafraid to stray from the beaten path of simple flavors established by large breweries. Their carefully calculated "single speed" will allow hand-crafted ales to emerge as a small, artisanal batch formulated from recipes that include fresh, local, seasonal and organic ingredients.
Toppling Goliath - A pleasantly quenching California Common lager, refreshingly clean hop forward ales, bold double IPA’s, barrel and wood aged beers, and attention-getting imperial stouts have become the foundation of Toppling Goliath's quest to make big beers in small batches. In addition to their Decorah tasting room, you can find their brews on draft at select locations throughout the state.
Now that we've got your tastbuds watering for a taste of an ice cold craft beer from any one of these breweries, hop on over to SingleSpeed to order tickets for our Hops on Main event so you can sample them all!
