There's no doubt about it; downtown Cedar Falls is a beautiful place! We have countless volunteers to thank for working tirelessly year after year to replace plants, weed gardens, water flowers, sweep the sidewalks, pick up trash, and provide other general vanity-related maintenance throughout the year. It takes a whole community to keep us looking our best!
How can you help? Well, we're glad you asked! Coming up next week, we've got a super easy way for you to support our downtown beautification efforts. On Tuesday October 20th, we've partnered with a variety of downtown restaurants to host our Sips in the City fall fundraiser and we'd love it if you bought a ticket or two or TEN! Your ticket gets you admission to the opening reception at Luna Art+Wine from 5:30pm-6pm where we'll hook you up with a wrist band and a list of participating stops. We'll also give you an opportunity to bid on some super cool silent auction items! Then we'll send you off to visit eight participating restaurants to sample signature food and drink pairings off their menus. Stops include Bourbon Street, Cafe Due, Here's What's Poppin, Montage, Pump Haus, Scratch Cupcakery, SingleSpeed Brewing and Soho. The night wraps up at the BRAND NEW VooDoo Lounge with our "Wine Down" reception starting at 8pm! You'll get a complimentary glass of wine courtesy of VooDoo and you'll have a chance to place final bids on your silent auction items of choice. We're also going to hand out some fabulous prizes at 8:30pm; must be present to win!
Sounds awesome, right? So where can you get your tickets? They're available on our website or at the Blackhawk Hotel for just $20. BUT there's only a limited number of tickets available and they are going FAST so don't wait! Join us for a night out on the town to help us keep downtown a beautiful place where good friends meet!
Can't make it on Tuesday? Consider volunteering instead! We'll need help decorating for the holidays in November and we can always use an extra pair of hands for gardening-related tasks in the spring! Contact the office at 277-0213 for more info.
