Winter Fitness in the District

The Cedar Falls Downtown District is a place for many indoor and outdoor activities. Stay active during the winter months with the various activities inside and outdoors. There are many things to get working in the winter to keep you warm in many different ways.

The Downtown District is welcoming a new business in March, Main Street Fitness! Main Street Fitness will be going into 401 Main Street on street level where Snap Fitness used to be located. The gym will be a 24/7 access point for a workout at anytime you need. Ryan Pulvermacher, having opened three other fitness centers, is the man behind the new business in Cedar Falls. Stay tuned on the Community Main Street website to see when you can get a membership at the new Main Street Fitness center!

The Runner’s Flat holds different workouts five out of the seven days of the week! Get your blood pumping and get moving through the snow, wind, and cold to reach your goal this New Year. They offer different types of workouts for all running able people. If you’re looking to get out into the elements, The Runner’s Flat rents out both snow shoes and ice skates! Use the ice skates at the temporary ice rink at Gateway Park, which is even lit up at night. Please contact the Runner’s Flat for more information on what day would be best suited for you!

The State Street Yoga Co-op is a warm indoor activity to also get your blood pumping during the chilly winter months. They offer different types of yoga classes taught by a variety of instructors. If you want to hit the trails but find yourself with out a mode of transportation, look no further than the Downtown District’s very own Bike Tech. Bike Tech will rent you bike so you can explore the trails through the Cedar Valley. Bike Tech services and sells bikes for all your cycling needs.
