Welcome to Cedar Falls Community Main Street's "Holiday Hoopla"

In 2009, a dedicated and passionate committee of volunteers, downtown merchants, and Community Main Street staff got together to create a new holiday event, affectionately dubbed "Holiday Hoopla." Holiday Hoopla creates a fun and memorable holiday experience for people of all ages during the holiday season in the Cedar Falls Downtown District.

Holiday Hoopla "Kickoff" is the Friday after Thanksgiving, 6-8 pm

Every year, Holiday Hoopla officially kicks off the Friday after Thanksgiving when Santa Claus "secretly" arrives and the beginning of the shopping season in the Downtown District begins.

2022 will return to the River Place Plaza. The characters, the dancers, our Hoopla Mayor, the Hoopla band will be gracing the stage at the 14th Kickoff event on November 25th.

The fireworks return as Santa will guide us down 2nd Street to Main Street where we will watch the fireworks shoot off over the Cedar River.

Holiday Hoopla Trademark

Community Main Street organizes many events and activities throughout the year. Our series of events called "Holiday Hoopla" has become a major draw for our community. In early 2012, we obtained a legal trademark for "Holiday Hoopla". In order to protect our trademark and our sponsors, any use of the trademark must be coordinated through the CMS office. Financial contributors and sponsors may identify themselves as a supporter of Holiday Hoopla. Contact the Cedar Falls Community Main Street office for more information.
